E-Skeleton Project
This is a Virtual Skeleton project which allows teachers and students to view the bone anatomy of humans, chimpanzee, baboons and gorillas. Students/teachers can view different bones from the ventral, dorsal, medial, lateral, proximal and distal views. They can then see the differences and similarities between the structure of the bones and how the structure of a bone is related to its role.
It is also possible to view bones from different animals side-by-side to compare the differences and similarities – Comparative anatomy. Comparative bone anatomy is very useful when using bone structure as evidence for evolution.
e-Skeleton project can be viewed online (http://www.eskeletons.org) but can be downloaded for offline viewing (recommended).
