Check out this site on introduction to Three-Dimensional Modeling, Animation and Rendering Using Blender 3D 2.4 software. It has a series of twelve seminars with PDF tutorials and video input to giude through the rich  tools and abilities of Blender 3D in computer generated 3-D modeling and animation.. Blender is an open source software.  Must have Real Media Player and Adobe Reader installed in your computer.
